This stainless steel colander is made of high quality material. I use it as strainer for pasta and rice, or wash fruits and vegetables in it. Unless the other stainless steel colanders that I have seen in the market for about the same price, this one is sturdy and durable. I haven't had it for a long time but it seems to be rust resistant. I make sure that always after using and washing it, I dry it to avoid any rust. I love that the handles are rubber covered preventing any possible slip or burning while straining boiling pasta or rice. The 5-quart size is perfect to have enough space to wash fruits or vegetables. I would recommend this product to any friend and it is a must-have for any kitchen.
